Wrapping Up the Year & Festive Season Tips

If you’re reading this post, you’ve almost made it through the silly season. We hope you have something fun lined up for the holidays! And if you’re one of the ones working through the whole season, we salute you and are here to support you through the peak period. You got this!

A quick reminder: if you haven’t communicated your business trading hours for the festive season to your customers, now’s the time to do it. Email, SMS, post physical signage on your shopfront (before the dates come up), and make sure you have a banner on your website and pinned posts on your socials. Don’t forget to update your Google My Business hours too. There’s nothing worse for customers who might travel to you, think you’re open, and arrive to find a closed venue. And you bet they’ll leave you a 1-star Google Review about it.

Use FOMO to your advantage! Let people know how many days there are until your event or Christmas. Use a countdown widget on your website or in your e-flyers to create a sense of urgency. FOMO is a powerful marketing tool—don’t underestimate its effectiveness!

Digital gift vouchers are a lifesaver this time of year. Remind your customers of the convenience—they’re emailed directly and can be forwarded or printed out for use. Believe it or not, gift voucher purchases come through even on Christmas Day morning! Offering this option for last-minute shoppers is a win for you and them.

Remember to thank your clients, suppliers, partners, and followers. Even if not everyone celebrates the holidays, you can always thank them for sticking with you throughout the year and being part of your network and community.
