10 Steps to the Secrets of Success

There is no tool and software that can help with you being successful. You will need to make a few changes in your everyday life to set yourself up for success. Here are 10 tips that can help.

While success can mean a lot of different things to different people, there are some key behaviours and approaches to life that can potentially help you get a little bit closer to your business and personal goals.

So here is my list of what I believe to be some very useful secrets to success.

  1. Take risks

Nothing big ever happened from playing it safe, and usually the higher the risk the higher the reward. By staying in your comfort zone you will only get further away from what it is you want. Risk taking can also make you stand out from the crowd because lots of people are afraid to take said risks.

  1. Believe in yourself

First of all, if you don’t believe in yourself, who else will? Additionally, if you don’t really believe in what you’re working towards, not only will you hustle less hard but you also run the risk of losing your passion. Passion can easily fade if you are working towards something you don’t truly believe in and without that fire in your belly it will take a lot more effort to make your dreams a reality.

  1. Follow a routine

Routine allows for a bit of order amongst the chaos. Not only that, it also helps to establish good habits that will treat your mind well and free up some mental space for things that need it more. Adding in a morning routine like journaling or meditation can bring you so much peace and clarity which will run over into other aspects of your life.

  1. Speak Your mind

All the most successful people in the world wouldn’t have gotten very far if they were afraid of saying what they thought. What you say and believe has value far greater than you know. Be careful with what this is, this isn’t about being opinionated or argumentative, it’s about being heard and being outgoing enough to be heard.

Furthermore, speaking your mind often gets you closer to what you actually want. Being quiet or indirect will only prolong the journey towards your success.

  1. Think creatively

At this moment in time, original thoughts are hard to come by. If you can find a way of doing things differently there is opportunity for you to break into the market with strength and/or more efficiency. A lot of things we use everyday started as crazy creative ideas, so don’t be afraid to think outside the box.

  1. Be resilient and not afraid to fail

Every mistake is a chance to learn and grow so take them as opportunities to do so. In the event you do fail, bounce back! Never let a mistake define you or knock you down, we are human so we are bound to mess up. Take the leap and if you do fail or your idea isn’t so great, don’t beat yourself up.

  1. Learn to Prioritise

It may seem easy, but figuring out what needs to be done and not spreading yourself too thin will make your life so much easier. It will allow you to make time for everything that needs to be done without having to rush things. Not everything is time critical so see what needs to be done first and let the rest follow.

  1. Follow through/ learn disciplines

Having a good work ethic will take you far. Following through is sometimes the hardest part and what will separate you from others. Discipline is the best way to ensure you get things done, motivation will fade but discipline will keep you on track even on those days when you don’t feel like getting anything done.

  1. Network but keep it Human

Networking is key to making friends and business colleagues in any industry but being a robot will not get you far. People can see through fake attempts at ‘friendship’ and will not respond as well to you if they can tell your heart isn’t in it.  So, respect them enough to be honest and if you want a purely business relationship with them, be upfront about it.  Stop trying to people please your way up the ladder. You also don’t have to be more cut throat than you are comfortable with, by making more genuine connections with people rather than being a backstabber to get what you will get you further in the long run.

  1. Always be prepared

You might not know what the future holds but having some kind of plan in place for predictable problems is never a bad idea. Having a back up plan in case of failure will help you to get back on your feet faster. Learning from mistakes will also help you to prepare for the future. Strategy planning and having general planning skills for what your year is going to look like is also a good idea.
