What is your new role at Creative Little Soul?
As our business grows we always want to ensure we’ve the right team on hand to take care of our clients. We’ve gone thru a little and very welcome growth spurt here recently at Creative Little Soul, which means new homies. Let us introduce you to Marketing and Social Media all rounder and Self-Appointed Team Hype Girl Adele Wright.
Did you have a connection with Chrissy or CLS before your new role?
I met Chrissy years ago through my husband’s cousin at a wedding. We stayed in contact as we both have a “get sh*t done” attitude. I’ve always wanted to work in this industry, and Chrissy has generously given me the opportunity!
Tell us about where you live and your family?
In the Adelaide Hills of South Australia, I live in Mount Barker with my husband of eight years, Adam, and our two kids. My daughter Aria is 2.5 going on 13. She is a redhead and attitude plus 10. My son Axel is almost 1 and just a little ball of sunshine. I’ve never met such a chilled out, placid little dude. We also have a brown kelpie cross staffy called Zac, and a little tortoiseshell cat called Minx.

As a working Mum, what are some of your challenges so far? Can you offer any advice to other working Mum’s in terms of getting the balance right between work and family?
This is a big question that has recently been at the forefront of my mind. Work/Life/Family Balance is something that I have really struggled with since becoming a Mum. The best advice I can give is to trust your gut and just do what you need to do for your family. Money and jobs will come and go, but the time you get with your family only comes once.
Have you completed any tertiary/vocational education?
I have Cert 3 in Business – Frontline Management, Cert 2 in Childhood Studies, and Cert 2 in Retail Operations. I’m also a Level 2 Reiki Practitioner and am a qualified NLP Coach, EFT Coach, Hypnotherapist and Time Line Therapist. I have also done a lot of short courses, including many of Chrissy’s, which have been insanely informative and applicable across multiple industries.
What is your favourite social media platform, and why?
I am a very visual person, so Instagram takes the cake for me! I have also gained access to an amazing community through the platform and met some absolutely incredible people!
What do you do to stay motivated at work? (Do you have a productivity hack you can share with us?)
I love power hours. Working with children around 24/7 can be very challenging. Whenever I have the babes down for naps or my husband has taken them to give me a break, I love to write a to-do list and set myself a timer. I vary how I do this. If I have lots of big tasks to do, I pick the four most important things, set a timer for 15 minutes and have 4 x 15-minute blocks to smash out as much as possible. If there are just lots of little jobs, I set the timer and see how many I can get ticked off within the hour.
Can you share with us where you go looking for inspiration?
As a visual person, Pinterest and Instagram are my go-to’s for inspiration. You also can’t beat a good old Google of your subject matter. I also love just getting out into the fresh air and seeing what pops up. Sometimes I find that screens and technology can block your creative juices and removing this can unblock your brain when you feel stagnant.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
I dabble in a little bit of a lot.
Reading and writing are two passions that have been with me since I could basically read and write. I also enjoy painting and drawing, and I am really into natural cleaning and essential oils, trying to live a more natural lifestyle.
I love research and am most happy when learning something new. I hate feeling stagnant and always must be moving and learning; otherwise, I feel like I’ll explode.
What kind of music do you enjoy?
I’m very eclectic and pretty well listen to everything. I can be listening to anything from Dean Lewis, ACDC, S Club 7, One Republic, and everything in between. But let’s be honest, as a Mum of a 2.5-year-old and 11-month-old, the main thing that pumps in my car these days is The Wiggles #hotpotato
Fave Disney Princess/ Character and why?
For me, Ariel. I have always loved Ariel right from when I was a little girl. I loved her rebellious and adventurous nature and dedication to going after what she wanted (Seriously, giving up your voice to become human? Mind Blowing.). I was always a water baby, and the thought of mermaids existing was incredible.
At CLS, we are very focused on self-care. Can you share with us some of the things you do to look after yourself that keep you in a good place to take on the challenges of daily life?
Self-care is something that I have struggled with in the past. I now take it very seriously because of being so busy with work and the kids. I have little daily rituals that are part of my non-negotiables. I meditate every day. I also use essential oils to support my mental and physical health. I regularly check in with friends either with a message or in person with a coffee or meal. I make time to journal and read. I probably enjoy too much chocolate and love to cook and bake!
