Creative Little Soul (CLS) is an award-winning digital and creative marketing agency. We provide business support and creative services such as content creation, digital marketing strategies and design for our clients in the hospitality industry.
Chrissy Symeonakis established Creative Little Soul in 2013. From humble beginnings, CLS is now a team of ten creatives who each bring a wealth of talent to business.
You’ve met a few of the other team members, now it’s time to meet Creative Little Soul’s Marketing and Administration Coordinator, Amanada Paterson to the e-stage. She also wears the hat of our team mother and is the one that keeps us all organised and in check!!
Hi Amanda. Can you tell us about your role with Creative Little Soul and when you started at CLS?
I am Marketing and Administration Coordinator – basically I support everyone with there Marketing and Admin needs. I started with CLS in March 2019.
What did you do prior to your current role?
I used to be a Marketing Manager doing product development and strategy. I have worked for some big companies in the FMCG and Kid’s toy and merchandise categories.
As CLS’s admin superstar, can you tell us how you prioritise your work?
I am an organised person and I need to structure my whole day before I start. I do use notepads and Trello to keep me on track, where I can mark off things as I go. I tend to do the easiest and quicker things first and leave the harder ones to the end.
As a tip, you need to write things down, people forget and there is other things that come up, but if you write it all down and then refer to it all the time, you will find that you will complete everything that you need.
What does your average working week look like?
My week mostly consists of doing reviews, setting up processes and general adhoc duties.
We’d love to know your tips and tricks for managing the parent/work juggle.
Wow! This is a good question. I think you need to have structure, and structure of knowing the times that they sleep, and structure of how you want your day to go. And the one thing I say is teach your child to be independent, play by themselves etc. It helps when you are working from home and they go and play with their toys or watch a movie.
How do you stay motivated in your work?
I always like to feel like a achieved something, I usually don’t stop until I accomplished what I wanted to do.
What is your preferred social media platform and why?
I prefer Facebook. Only because it has become my hub for catching up on show highlights, news and knowing what my friends are up to.
What are your passions outside of your work and what do you like to do in your downtime?
I love art and creating things. So, I am always finding new things to do on the weekend that involves this OR creating something around the house. And I love to cook, my waist doesn’t like it, but my family do.
Documentaries vs reality TV shows, which genre would you rather watch and why?
Both actually. I love learning about new things that documentaries can teach me, although there are some that I have falling asleep to. But I love reality TV shows because I am a critic of my own life and how I am with others, so I like to watch them to learn WHAT NOT TO DO. I am more into anything Sci Fi and Fantasy.
Any advice you might give to others who might considering a career working as a Virtual Administrator?
You must be motivated and driven and you need to treat every client’s business like it is your own business. The things that people do wrong is they wait for work and don’t show the initiative for more, everyday you need to keep thinking about how you can make a client’s business better.
And get reading motivational books, at least once a month. The best books I could recommend are Personality Plus and Five Love Languages. A must read!!
