Back in my nightclub days, and as a first port of call on the SS Goldfish, was the promotion, marketing and PR of Yoruba Records boss Osunlade. Mike Steva was also on the bill, and is hands down one of the most organised promoters I’ve to work with to date.
The party was awesome, the music vibing and when I reconnected with Mike recently, it was a no brainer for me to get on board and support these awesome artists and events happening down under!
Yoruba Records boss OSUNLADE is set to grace the shores of Australia once more for what is set to be an Aural journey of Ancestral Rhythms & Soulful, Deep Musical vibrations!
From composing music for Sesame street and working with a wide range of artists such as Patti Labell, Roy Ayres, Salif Kieta, Eric Bennet and Musiq Soulchild to name a few! This man is a current day guru and leader in the movement of quality music! Founding Yoruba records in 1999 – OSUNLADE’S vision has seen him produce many hits over the years, his solo albums such as Paradigm, Aquarian Moon & Pyrography have set the foundations for Yoruba to stamp its spot as one of the most respected Records Label’s in the House Music World.
OSUNLADE is also responsible for breaking and nurturing many artists along the way and on the night will be joined by 2 of Yoruba’s own, New York City’s OVEOUS who is set to touch down in Australia for the first time ever and Melbourne’s own MIKE STEVA!
Having featured on the infamous ‘Mirror Dance’ record , along with appearances for Def Jam and The Arsenio Hall show, OVEOUS is an amazing talent that delivers the freshest poetry for your aural senses! He is also set to deliver a DJ set alongside Yoruba’s MIKE STEVA who’s ‘Who Am I’ album has made some serious noise around the globe in recent years!
