The Life of A Creative – Guest Blog Column

For the month of August, I’ve been selected as the artist and creative in residence to contribute a column to the team over at Keleido Press. Not only is this a great honour (thank you for thinking of me and asking) it’s a great online and print publication that supports and provides a range of Creatives with information, access to mentors, events and more.

Kaleido is a platform featuring people, projects and places that facilitate creativity and collaboration. A place to connect, form lasting creative relationships, challenge yourself and showcase your work. The newspaper features multidisciplinary creatives paving the way in their industries and evolving collaborative and participatory processes. On top of inspiring interviews, the publication features events, reviews and a working space directory to keep young creatives informed and connected.

The website provides an on-the-go resource for finding potential workshops and events, and an opportunity to interact and upload submissions that showcase who you are and what you have to offer to creative endeavours.

On top of the printed version, Kaleido will be an experiential publication, the 2nd issue is now on sale and available to purchase via their website here

Kaleido’s  aim is  to bring  affordable and accessible resources to young creatives to aid their progression into professional life, and encourage open collaboration and networking opportunities.

It was a no brainer for us to collaborate with them, as their ethos, ethic and what they’re doing to support, motivate and inspire others fits totally with our ethos.

The Life of  a Creative Part 1 is called “The Struggle is Real” and discusses what it’s to be a creative, how to get yourself started in the industry and some tips and insight. Read the full article and column here and check out the rest of the website. Not only is it visually beautiful but it’s packed full of amazing, inspiring artists.

We’ll continue to post the details of the monthly column here for you, and as always we love your feedback, comments and interaction.
