I’m a massive supporter of creatives of all kinds and music has always played an important part in my life and career. I’ve always had a front row seat to working with and having in my social circle an abundance or muso’s,
DJ’s and producers. It’s one thing to DJ (and I’m probably going to get shot here), but really anyone can do it. Production on the other hand is putting what’s in your head and creating a sound for people to get excited about and enjoy. In an industry where there is a lot of similar sounding sounds (and it will for the most part I think be like that across an genre), within the electronic music industry it’s even more common place. Most genre’s have a formula. If you’re any good you’ll know when the break will come in, when you put your hands in the air and when to expect a vocal.
So it’s no surprise then that not only are we massively supportive of anyone that’s creating but it’s that much cooler when they’re people you know and you’re friends. I met Beth Yen a few years back through friends of friends and she’s played everywhere both locally and abroad. She spent a massive 2014 season in Ibiza where she made waves, told everyone she was related to Steve Aioki and let them all know she was there and meant business. She’s back again on the white isle as we speak with some amazing residencies and has been very busy for a while now in the studio and putting her stamp and brand on things. Well done girl!
KUDO$ is a good friend of mine, a talented artist and performer with such diversity in his range, skills and talents. While this is one monika that he records and contributes under, this boy is the business! He’s a resume and accomplished list like most artists in the Australian music industry could hope for AND the good thing? He’s worked hard to get where he is, on his merit and skill and he’s by far one of the loosest muthafuckas I know (there was no other word to explain him).
Their track “Who Cares” was picked up by Freemasons Music which is due for official release later in the month. If the pre sale charting is anything to go by, then I think this one is going to be a real banga and will get some serious airplay in Ibiza and beyond. KC Lights and another of my faves; Alex Taylor are on remix duty, so there’s something for everyone! Get it in your ear holes and support your local artists!
I’m a bit biased as I do like these guys and know them personally, but nothing was paid to me to say this. This is my personal opinion and me just supporting good people with a passion.
