What is your role at Creative Little Soul?
Marketing and Events Assistant
What was your first paying job, and what did it teach you?
My first paid job was as a checkout team member at Woolworths when I was 14. It was a valuable introduction to customer service, and the skills I developed there have stayed with me throughout many roles since. I quickly learned that while some customers can be challenging, many others are genuinely kind and a pleasure to serve.
What tertiary/vocational education have you completed?
I am on the tail end of completing a Bachelor of Entertainment Business Management at JMC. Before obtaining this degree, I completed a Certificate 3 in Health Service Assistance to work as an Assistant Nurse, which I held for a year.
Where did you work before landing your job at CLS?
I currently work at JB Hi-Fi as a senior merchandise team member. I have been there for 4 and a half years now.
What do you do to stay motivated at work? Do you have a productivity hack you can share with us?
I often struggle with finding motivation to start tasks, especially large ones, and can feel overwhelmed when I’m unsure where to begin. The Pomodoro method helps me overcome that by breaking the work into manageable, timed chunks, making the task feel less daunting and easier to start.
What is your favourite social media platform and why?
Instagram has become my go-to platform for just about everything—entertainment (usually the viral TikToks that make their way to Reels a few months later), news (from pop culture to global events), and even marketing (targeted ads or creative photo posts). It was also the first social media app I ever downloaded, so it carries a bit of nostalgia for me too.
What are some of your favourite things to do outside of work?
I might be a slow reader, but I genuinely love reading! I’m still making my way through the latest Hunger Games book, and my friends are eagerly waiting to talk about it with me. I also enjoy discovering new music—whether it’s through online forums or by attending live events. I am also a bit of a homebody, so staying home and watching a comfort show or movie is my way of relaxing.
Where do you go looking for inspiration?
I find inspiration from scouring Pinterest and putting together mood boards—it’s one of my favourite ways to get inspired, especially when I have a new project idea. I also turn to Instagram for visual inspiration, and sometimes TikTok, though it’s easy to get sidetracked there. Another thing I often do is talk to a friend who’s passionate or knowledgeable about the topic I’m working on. Their perspective not only helps me see things differently but often brings fresh ideas I hadn’t considered.
What kind of music do you enjoy?
Honestly, I need music playing all the time—it’s a constant in my life. My taste is pretty diverse. I grew up on R&B, especially groups like Destiny’s Child, so I’m really into the British trio FLO right now. I’m also loving the current pop queens like Sabrina, Chappell, and KATSEYE. On the Aussie side, I’m a big fan of Spacey Jane, Grent Perez, 1300, and The Rions.
What’s one place on your bucket list that you’d love to travel to and why?
I know I might be a bit late to the trend, but Japan is high on my travel list. I’d love to visit an onsen for the full traditional experience, but I’m also really interested in the Daikoku car meet. It’s a bit of a wildcard since it’s not an official event and sometimes gets patrolled by the police depending on the day and time. Still, there are some tours that offer a “Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift” experience, taking you to Daikoku and around Tokyo in modified cars, which sounds like an unforgettable way to see the city.
At CLS we are very focused on self-care. Can you share with us some of the things you do to look after yourself that keep you in a good place to take on the challenges of daily life?
When using the Pomodoro method, I like to spend my 5-minute breaks outside getting some sun and fresh air—it’s a quick reset before diving back into work. And who doesn’t love a little treat? On tougher days, I’ll grab a matcha or bubble tea as a pick-me-up or a small reward for pushing through. I’m also a big fan of self-care rituals, like a spa-style shower with face masks, hair treatments, and warm towels. It’s my way of unwinding and preventing burnout.
What are you most excited about for your new role at CLS?
I’m genuinely excited to be joining the CLS team—they’re a wonderful group of people whom I’m ready to learn so much from. I look forward to applying my marketing and event planning skills while also challenging myself in this new environment and exploring different areas for growth.
We’re so excited to have Liv on board, and we know you’ll love working with her just as much as we do. You might see her name pop up in your inbox or find her working on some of our entertainment clients’ exciting upcoming events — so be sure to say hi and give her a warm welcome!
